You're so right, it's a hard gig! I moved my mother in with me when she was 100 and suddenly developed dementia. She lived to be 102. She would emerge in the morning ready to attend someone's funeral who died 50 years ago. I would say, "Okay but I'm not ready yet. Let's have breakfast." By the time she had breakfast and a nap, she had forgotten about it. She had delusions and constantly woke me in the middle of the night. It wasn't easy, but I'm glad I did it.
