You're right on all counts, and kudos to you for hanging in there. Don't feel guilty when you feel resentful because it's inevitable.

I moved my mother in with me and took care of her for the last 20 months of her life, and to say it wasn' easy is an understatement. Hospice and caregivers were a godsend in the last few months when she couldn't get out of bed and her dementia had progressed. But in retrospect, I'm glad I was able to do it.
