You were brave to write this piece. I see from the comments that people misinterpreted your idea of "shame" to mean shaming other people. My understanding of what you meant is that we should develop enough self-esteem that we would be ashamed to engage in casual, meaningless sex rather than setting out standards high enough to combine sex with love and caring.
