You are so right. When my husband was laid off at 55 years old, he was highly qualified with super technical skills and a masters degree from Duke University. He would have taken any job. He even applied with Home Depot for the lowest position. But he didn't get hired.

Finally he got his teacher's degree and ended up begin a high school teacher, and did that for 15 years. I'm glad every single day that I'm not trying to get a job.
