Yes, we need and should welcome immigrants. But they should come here legally, with skill sets to offer, carefully vetted, and allowed to work immediately after arriving rather than becoming dependent on our government welfare system. No country has open borders that allow people to flood in indiscriminately. There are people out there who hate America and would love to infiltrate this country in order to destroy it. We must distinguish between those immigrants and the ones who want a better life for themselves.
