Wonderful way of expressing it Michael. Scripture tells us God causes his rain to fall and sun to shine on everyone, all people, all religions. So yes, claiming God is exclusively on the side of one or the other side of the political fence or religious doctrine is claiming to know more than we can know about the mind of God.
