Why didn't Obama start building public housing again? Maybe Kamala will restart that building program when she becomes president. It seems we have the infrastructure money, and we could build public housing for a lot less than the half million dollars California is spending for each small public housing unit.
I would love to see our country build housing for the homeless. My church provides housing in church for homeless women and children. We installed a new bath with shower for that purpose. They stay at church until the families can get into permanent housing, which we also help them with, and most of them are able to get into their own place within a few months.
But this is such a miniscule portion of the homeless population that we're able to accommodate, and there's such a great need. I think the only answer is to provide some sort of housing, but try to insure that it isn't ruined by gang violence so people will have a safe place to stay.
What do you think? It certainly a problem that needs a solution.
