When I beat myself up over something I regret, I remind myself that in a week or two I will have forgotten about it and moved on.

On another note, a divorced woman in our neighborhood who was working 2 jobs trying to make it on her own got scammed out of $14,000, which was her entire savings. She thought she was talking to the FBI when the scammers told her to withdraw all her savings and buy bitcoins with it. She did, and now her money's gone without even insurance to cover it, because they've got video of her getting it out of the bank.
