What you say is true, however at 70 I have more friends and go out with more people than I used to because I'm not bogged down with raising children or working. I do have to make a concerted effort, though. I joined a women's club and agreed to be on a committee, I am active in church planning seminars and being a Stephen Minister, and I love that I have time to exercise, have lunch with girlfriends, read and write. There are lonely people out there, and we can help them be less lonely. There are still things to learn and things to do!
