What a wonderful and loving article. Your mother sounds inspirational with her positive attitude, and you are a caring family. My sister had two strokes. She got to the hospital very early during the second one, while it was still ongoing, and they didn't do a thing. She continued to deteriorate until she became paralyzed on one side. So getting to the hospital, although wisely advised, doesn't always minimize the effects. My sister is still navigating around her house and living by herself.
