What a nightmare! Egypt was one of my best vacations ever, but that was about 15 or 16 years ago. We hired a van and driver along with an Egytologist to take us everywhere, and we had trained guides in each city. I'm sure this made the difference, as they were able to navigate us through the hassles and steer us to the best places.

Part of our trip included a 5-day cruise down the Nile on a nice French boat, and we also went up in hot air baloons. Like you, I enjoyed our visit with the Nubians. We chartered aboat to go over there and spent the day. However, the camels roaming loose in the streets did not like females, and they tried to chase and bite the women but not the men.
