My 20-year-old grandson, who has wanted for years to work in the film industry, landed a job in Atlanta on the production set of Stranger Things. This followed his internship on several other films.

He is excited to be living in a state that provides so many opportunities in his chosen career field, and at nearly 21, has gotten full time work, joined a union, and is gaining a wealth of experience.

He’s benefiting from the fact that Georgia has the fastest-growing film industry in the nation, overtaking California as the state producing the most feature films.

In 2020, Republican Governor Brian Kemp announced plans to reopen the industry following the coronavirus pandemic, which jump started the already thriving industry.
