This is really crazy, but one time when I was working as a store manager, a woman came flying in screaming that a child had been left alone in a hot car. Thinking a baby or toddler was going to suffocate, we called the security guard and went flying out to the parking lot, only to discover that the “child” was a 16-year-old boy, sitting in the car with the door open listening to music through his earphones, because he didn’t want to come inside shopping with his mom.
