This is a wonderful essay, Debbie. You're so right, ourr narcissistic society had left people invisible. We no longer see each other as special creations of God. I have seen a glimmer of hope when I take my sister out in her wheelchair, though. Several young men have rushed to assist and open doors for us. That's encouraging, and your post inspires me to make more of an effort to notice people.
