This article brought back memories of a conversation I had with a friend many years ago. We were out walking when we ran into each other and decided to finish out the walk together. He was a scientist, renowned in his field and brilliant. He began talking about little green men, how he saw them and believed in them, etc. I must say I was startled at this bizarre conversation. Then, not long after that, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. I wondered if that had something to do with the strange conversation. He had always been a good-natured, friendly, happy man, and I learned from his wife after she was forced to put him in a Memory Care home that he continued to be good natured, friendly and happy, even as he lost his memory. This probably isn't the kind of response you meant to elicit from your dinner table discussion, but it's the first thing that came to my mind.
