A revelation

This morning during my walk I received a revelation. As red-tipped leaves shimmered in the sun and azure sky yawned overhead, a poem came to me unbidden, a gift from the universe.

Words, stanzas, couplets expressed the secrets of my heart, the longings of my soul, the connection of my spirit with the unparalleled beauty of this fall-drenched day. Finally, at long last, every word dripped with wisdom. Thoughts and feelings coalesced into one perfect whole, flooding my mind with an intensity born of truth expressed as poetry.

A quickening of my step, a breeze ruffling my hair, a renewal of hope in my heart epitomized the ecstasy of creative bliss. I must get it down on paper!

Sadly, by the time I got home, I had forgotten every word.
