Glancing at her reflection, Margo was satisfied that she looked great. “I’m breaking up with him tonight,” she vowed. “No more trying to spare his feelings when I could have my pick of any man on campus.”
He waited in the restaurant, an irritating eagerness evident in his smile. His narrow shoulders hunched forward as she sat down.
“There’s something I want to say,” he began, tentative. She braced herself for some ridiculous declaration of love.
“I’ve met someone else.”
She stared, disbelieving.
“You’re breaking up with me?”
Why had she never noticed before how good looking he was?
