Thanks for responding, Geri, but the autistic child in our family is 11years old and not potty trained, cannot speak and all doors in the house must be locked and bolted and all windows nailed shut so he cannot escape and come to harm. We love him as he is, but as things currently stand, the family cannot go on a family vacation because other places would not be secure, they cannot leave him for even a few minutes or take him anywhere. This is severely limiting to the entire family, and though we appreciate and love his uniqueness, we also pray that he can grow into a person who can love, respond, and be to some degree autonomous.
