Thank you for sharing your story. My daughter has been fostering children for years because she genuinely believes every child deserves a home. She also takes siblings because few other people will. She was eager to adopt a brother and sister who were in her home for a year, and she and her family dug into their savings to make sure those children had all the advantages of her own biological children. But at the end of a year the brother and sister were returned to their mother and are hopefully doing okay. This devastated my daughter who had come to love the children, and she wasn’t going to accept more foster kids for a while. But when she received a call that there was no one to accept an older boy and his toddler sister, she agreed to take them. This was four months ago and their mother has made no progress toward getting clean from drugs. The father is serving a long prison sentence. There are so many children and so few people to take them in.
