Thank you for mentioning me as one of the Christian writers, Jack. I appreciate it! I think there is a general anti-Christian bias in our society right now, not just on Medium, but whether or not that is due to actions of people who profess Christianity (and churches, too) but act otherwise or whether it’s to be expected, since Jesus did say his followers would be hated, I don’t know. As far as Medium goes, I’ve had some of my religious (Christian) stories selected for distribution by curators here. I believe the editors want to distribute a wide range of quality writing that will engage a variety of readers. I prefer writing for a readership that includes atheists, agnostics, humanists, and people of all beliefs rather than to a strictly Christian audience. If writing to the latter, I’m “preaching to the choir,” so to speak. This would be boring to me, and I’ve only written for a few Christian publications. I’ve always preferred reading writers, especially fiction writers, who include faith expressed naturally, with all its faults and doubts, to writers who are hammering home a theological point or gospel without thought to plot, character development or subtlety. Anyway, this is getting way too long so I’ll stop. Happy New Year!
