Tammy, I interviewed for a job one time with a nonprofit and one question was, how would I feel about people who took advantage of the charity? My answer was that if 10 people took advantage of my good nature but I helped keep one person from falling through the cracks, it would be worth it. Don’t focus on the end result of your efforts to be kind and generous. The results, other people’s responses, are out of your hands. It’s the process that is important, not how others respond.
