Some kids seem naturally cheerful and others whine more. I had one of each and the whiners, although very intelligent and strong willed, can be tough. My daughter has never allowed any whining. She has to kids. On the way to the pool and they whine? She turns around and goes back home. She really follows through even if it’s tough. Consequently now that they’re older they are amazingly well behaved and nice to be around.
