So true some of those comments can be hateful! As for writing there, controversial articles get way more attention than local restaurant reviews, but a businesss is going to pay for what it wants, and my guess is they're trying to get more people to download their app because of local content. Every company you work for pays for what it wants, not necessarily what we want to do.

On another note, I've had some fun with writing the stories. I paid for all the stuff I bought at the flea market because I wrote a story about it. Also, paid for my and my family's trip to the museum with an article. And both the flea market and museum were great discoveries! I never would have visited them without the incentive to write the local story.

So I'm expanding my horizons and having some fun for now. If they do away with base pay, I'm done. :)
