So true, Shea. I had to stay on top of things with my son, too. That’s what good parenting is all about! But there’s such a difference in what you and I do (or did) for our kids and trying to make sure students who are not turning in work or continuing to be disruptive get pushed through with unearned grades. School wanted to keep my son in a special ed curriculum so I had to sign a waiver and demand that he be put in college-bound courses once he began to do well. He had been pigeon-holed already. But regardless of our children’s disabilities, it does them no good if we don’t hold them to certain standards. Thanks for reading!
