Regardless of what statistics you believe, and I can see from the comments that there are a lot of different perspectives about the statistics, the United States will never come together to pass any substantive gun laws, so we MUST protect students by placing more guards in schools. When terrorism threatened airports we stepped up airport security. Celebrities and politicians have bodyguards and the White House is completely fortified against shooters. I realize we want to bury our heads in the sand and pretend the world is a safer place than it is, we dislike the idea of schools becoming like “fortresses,” etc. But we need to do whatever it takes to keep our kids alive.
