Reading your article brought several thoughts to mind. The first one was, “There’s nothing new under the sun,” as scripture tells us. Our experiences aren’t unique. The second thought was, “You are fearfully and wonderfully made,” also from scripture and indicating that we are, indeed, special. And the third phrase (not from scripture) is “take like seriously but don’t take yourself too seriously.”

Though I disagree with you about being special, because I believe every human being is, I agree with you that our experiences aren’t unique and special and we can’t take ourselves too seriously.
