My son didn’t want to take his shirt off at the beach because he’d just gotten a tattoo. I personally didn’t mind, but he knew his dad wouldn’t like it. Since then my daughter-in-law has gotten about four or five. Whatever works for them is okay with me. Although I did see a guy one time who had almost every inch of his skin tattooed and I wondered if he’d regret it later.
