My point was that people don’t know what’s going on in another person’s life, who they are encountering or how much their attitudes could adversely affect their business. I was speculating that this manager treated us as she did because we both looked average, of no special means, maybe a little on the lower income side. And I wondered if that could be why she chose to treat us as she did. Would she, like most other people in our society who favor the rich, have responded differently had she known?
