Media throughout its history has been used as a propaganda machine. The real problem arises when it is government controlled and journalists spew the government line, such as in China during the Cultural Revolution and in Russia most of the time. I currently tune into a variety of channels, and probably prefer Al jazeera to Fox and CNN, although it, too, has its editorial bent.
