Maybe a mild variant is exactly what we need to dilute this virus so that in addition to the vaccines, which have proven they can't eliminate covid, we have some natural immunity. I'm vaccinated, going to get my booster, but I'm not going to stop all interactions with grandkids and all travel for the rest of my life. A much milder version of Covid could possibly be the thing that would end the pandemic.
