Marci, what you’ve described is great parenting, as far as I’m concerned. I too was a helicopter parent from the perspective of being involved enough to make sure they were working to their best potential. It’s great that you made sure your kids were exposed to a lot of different environments and opportunities. Teens don’t just automatically become hard workers, respectful and appreciative without purposeful and conscientious parenting. Bravo for you!
