James, have you read the book Pastrix? She reconciles love of Christ’s teachings with many of the things you talk about. In one portion of the book she mentions that hatred of evangelical, conservative Christians is just as damaging as hatred of people who don’t share their faith. People can only be reconciled through the love of Christ. If you haven’t read the book, I recommend it. I believe, as she does, that Christ’s love is for all people and available to all people. I don’t hate you, and I don’t hate people who are more conversative or liberal in their beliefs than I am. Nor do I consider conservative or liberal believers to be evil.
