It’s generally overdone for shock value to the point that it becomes offensive. I think it depends on context and the point or emotion you’re trying to convey. In a fiction piece, your character might be better defined by cussing. Why message do you want to get across, who are your readers, does profanity enhance or detract from what you’re trying to say?
