It's brave of you to write such a balanced, thought-provoking article. You are a true liberal, but not a real leftist. There is a vast difference.

I believe extremes on both sides move their agenda forward by keeping hatred alive and virulent. If the hatred dies down with Trump's exodus from the political scene, then you can call me wrong. But I already see it being re-directed at others.

As a Christian, I believe that once hatred has gained its foothold in the human heart, it is hard to expund. By its nature, it finds a new outlet (or victim).

We will not be unified until we embrace the spiritual and redeeming qualities of love and forgiveness.

We have a spiritual problem in our country that goes deeper than our economic theories or political differences.
