It seems to me they should choose restaurants that are open on Sunday in this situation. But on another note, I've never been aware that Chick-fil-A exhibited any bigotry. The guy who started the franchise did a lot for orphans and other young people. Also, their franchise owners, workers, and customers are all genders, sexual orientations and races, from what I've seen. But then, I don't eat there often.
