Interesting read. Don't be too hard on the bible study group for a couple of reasons. One is, Jesus tells us to start out by giving a stranger a cup of cold water if we're not ready for major sacrifice or major service. Start small and he leads us to broader arenas and more sacrificial service. But could it also be that they said what they did because they are too humble or too embarrassed to go any deeper and reveal some areas where they have exhibited true Christ-like servanthood? I am a fairly reserved person in groups, and don't like to talk much about the personal things I've done, and I especially don't like to brag if I've done some real and worthwhile service.
