Interesting article. I disagree with his opinions and have chosen to believe other, equally impressive scholars who have studied biblical history and literature. But you do a nice job of espousing your views and neither one of us will ever be able to prove the other right or wrong.
I'm not suprised he hails from Chapel Hill, the same bastion of agnosticism that I attended, having graduated from that school years ago. But since then, through my studies and my personal experience, perhaps through the direction of the Holy Spirit herself, I've come to follow a different belief system and to accept the tenets of the Christian faith, as unbelievable as they are to some.
But as the Bible points out, faith was difficult even for those who were in the presence of Jesus.
