In my small home town in the South, people liked FAT. I was slender, and people would say things like, Are you okay, or you're so skinny. My much heavier sister got all the "You look great!" comments. Now it seems that being plump is in style everywhere, not just in the South. Even the models in the Target ads are overweight. We've gone from glorifying the Twiggy look to glorifying the person who is brave enough to be obese and still wear a bikini.
