I'd like to give you a different perspective, Hurriya. I managed a nonprofit thrift store. We gave clothes away to our clients in need, but the wealthier people who shopped there enabled us to also provide them with financial assistance. We couldn't have paid their rent without the income that came from those who spent a lot of money with us. Also, think about the wealthy person who shops in a thrift store so she has more of her money to give to causes that are close to her heart. I have a lot of money, but I like to shop in thrift stores so my disposable income can go to organizations that help others. I don't want my money going toward expensive clothing. Just some other thoughts on the issue.
