I went through the same thing, Vanessa. Only I was short and chubby. Kids called me “fatso” and my relatives, trying to give me a compliment, said I was “pleasingly plump,” which I detested! But like you, I had my revenge. When I grew up and got skinny and the boys who had laughed started asking me out, I could say no. Look at this positive, though: Growing up to rely on your looks would have been a negative because looks always go away anyway, but you developed your humorous side, which you can carry with you always.
