I thought of that a while back when I read one Taliban member's spin on why they treat women as second-class people. He said they do it because they revere women as a rare flower who is to be admired and protected.

I thought, Bullshit!

You can't relegate half the human race to second-class status under the guise of considering them equal while still withholding certain rights.
