I think many of us have been there. I'll forever regret that I didn't do more for my neighbor whose young child was dying. But I didn't know what to say, and I was super involved with my own busy life. I also regret the time I didn't contact an old friend, only to think about it when it was too late. But these are learning experiences. Maybe they equip us to be there for someone next time.
