I loved this book for the first 250 pages. Then I decided it was about 200 pages too long and skipped all the way to page 550 to see what was going to happen. Great writing, but I lost interest because I couldn't stand to see this character I had gotten so involved with throw away opportunities after all the struggles and sink into the same sort of crap he had been so desperately trying to escape.
