I love this article, Charles. So well written, and so relatable. I live in the South, but the people in my neighborhood aren't friends. It's not as if I haven't tried. I've hosted a couple of neighborhood things, but most people didn't RSVP, and nobody who came ever reciprocated. Most of them seem to be busy and don't want additional friends.

It used not to be that way. But these days my friends come from church, or somewhere else, but not from the neighborhood.
