I love coffee and not planning to quit. Medical studies show coffee has beneficial effects on the heart, liver and brain, with reduced instances of heart disease and diabetes in coffee drinkers. It energizes your metabolism and helps you burn fat at a higher rate, too. These benefits are especially true for women. But you're right that drinking it too late can keep some of us awake. My cutoff point is 2 in the afternoon.
