I don't think it has anything to do with comments. I think the pay just got cut by about 50 percent. I've noticed it too, from the same numbers of reads. But I've experienced this many times. When there is a major change in the platform, maybe the money goes toward the re-design or new technology or whatever, and there isn't as much to go around to the readers. Or maybe there are fewer paying members and more writers.
