I don't believe Progressives have anything to do with liberalism these days. Liberals, at least the old school ones, were in favor of free speech, free enterprise, freedom, period.

Somewhere along the line that got lost, and we are stuck with progressives who are communists and conservatives who have lost their ideology to the extent that they can't coherently defend why they believe the way they do.
