I don’t believe a mistrust of science is synonymous with a mistrust of the medical community. Illnesses are constantly being misdiagnosed or undiagnosed, pharmaceutical companies push drugs that sometimes result in side effects worse than the initial health problem, autism is resulting in young people who will grow to adulthood without being able to live independently and yet parents are dogmatically told that vaccines didn’t cause this with no additional information about what the cause might be.

Healthy skepticism of so-called experts is more likely now in an age when we can access so much information for ourselves, and I believe this is a good thing.
