I don’t agree that we’ve underestimated the virus or had a poor response. It seems to me that many people, including the CDC and others are doing all they can to contain the virus, develop a vaccine and confront the possibilities. Also, I don’t believe the global economy will continue to suffer long-term once the virus threat subsides. There really doesn’t seem to be much else people could do. Borders have been closed, quarantines have been implemented and drug companies have been urged to fast-track a vaccine. I worry about it too, because I’m in a vulnerable age group, but life is filled with danger and illnesses, and it’s not the government’s fault or the CDC’s fault.
