I didn't take a gift to my son and daughter in law when we visited, bur we paid their way to everything and bought the meals. They mostly didn't cook for us, but sometimes made something for themselves. The bed wasn't made up when I got there so I found some sheets and made it. We all get along great, maybe because I never complain.
